Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to an exciting school year at Banks Middle School! I am honored and thrilled to serve as the new principal of our school. I look forward to meeting you all in the coming months as we
kick off what will be a school year full of learning, fun, and connections at Banks Middle School!
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to the dedicated teachers, staff, and community members who have worked tirelessly to create a positive and nurturing environment here at BMS. Your commitment to students and each other has been apparent from my first day at Banks, and I feel so grateful to be a part of this community.
To our students, I want you to know that you are at the heart of everything we do. Each of you brings unique talents, interests, and aspirations, and it is my utmost priority to provide you with a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where you can thrive. Together, we will explore new knowledge, develop critical thinking skills, and foster a love of learning that will help you reach your fullest potential.
To parents and caregivers, you play an integral role in the success of your students and our school as a whole. Your support and active involvement in your child’s education make a significant difference. I encourage open lines of communication and collaboration between home and school, as we work together to ensure the best educational experience for your children. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers, our counselor Ms. Del Villar, our Assistant Principal Ms. Gallien, and/or myself if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns to share.
I’d also like to share with you that we have hired a new 6th grade social studies teacher, Mr. Wilson, who is replacing Ms. Dotson who is pursuing new adventures. Mr. Wilson brings a strong background in instruction, project-based learning, and technology. Welcome Mr. Wilson!
As your principal, I am committed to cultivating a school culture built on respect, kindness, and excellence. We will celebrate and embrace the strengths and characteristics that each individual brings to our community. This school year will undoubtedly bring its own set of challenges and opportunities, but I want to assure you that our dedicated team is prepared to listen and problem-solve to meet the needs of our students and support them in reaching their goals.
I am so excited about the year ahead and the possibilities it holds. I encourage you to get involved, take pride in our school community, and make lasting memories as we embark on this journey together.
With warmest regards,
Caitlin Everett
